So, I’ve been taking photos that mean a lot to me for a while now, but I’m still new to the business of taking photos that mean a lot to others. So it’s important to me that I don’t lose sight of what I love, but also not lose sight of what’s important to others. I’m doing a wedding this weekend, assisting with Jason Matos, for which I am excited. But I’m always a little bit nervous, as weddings are a big day, and I want to make sure my images live up to the memories that are being made. So, as I always do when I get excited, and am preparing, I look around to spark some ideas. I want to make sure I take the special pictures, and the funny pictures, etc etc. So I look to see what and how others have done this and that, so I have a better idea of what I’m looking for. Well, I saw one picture, just one that spoke to what I want my photos to be like… And I wanted to capture what came over me in that moment, so I wrote a few lines about the type of photos that I want to take.

You can take it or leave it, but I am just trying to write something that evokes the mentality that I hope to take when taking my photos, so here goes:I want to take photos that are unassuming.

I want to take photos of people that are real.
I want to take photos that are quirky.
I want to take photos of natural beauty.
I want to take photos of stone cold expressions.
I want to take photos of uncontrollable emotion.
I want to take photos of people that have a sense of humour.
I want to take photos that show joy and weeping.
I want to take photos of the rain.
I want to take photos and be dry.
I want to take photos and am willing to get dirty.
I want to take photos that make people happy.
I want to take photos of memories.
I want to take photos that are new and different and not boring.
I want to take photos that mean a lot to someone.
I want to take photos that inspire me to take more photos.
