Tina & Tasman met in Australia where they studied to become teachers. There, romance bloomed, they fell in love, and decided to make a life with each other. Now they teach in the United Arab Emirates, and somehow they found little ol’ me to take pictures on their beautiful day! I can’t say enough about this beautiful couple, spending just a short while with them for their engagement shoot, I could instantly see they were in sync. Tina is elegant, yet sassy, full of spirit and energy. Tasman is strong and calm but not too serious. Together they are easy going, confident, classy and charismatic, ready to take on the world – in each other’s arms of course!

This guy is the real deal, these two are meant for each other!

One thing that became evident to me through out the day was the way Tina and Tasman celebrated every moment, and made the most it! I get the feeling this is how they live life, and what a beautiful way to live it.

Tina’s sisters were too cute, this image just speaks so much about their relationship to me.

I end with this shot because it’s one of my favourite’s. These guys are starting a wonderful walk together, congratulations you two!

Here are some photos from my shoot with Nathan and Carley’s fam jam, with a new addition this year! Too much fun these guys, this is how our photo shoot started out:

And check out the eyes on these guys! The kids are so full of so much wonder and possibility!

I also had some help from Haley, Carley’s sassy sis.

Not only did she take on baby duty, but she also took some great pictures too! (Even with some focusing issues…)

This next one inspired me! (Another one of Haley’s!) I kinda went to town on it, trying some new editing with textures and what not… Hope I can do the same with a few others from the day, but that will have to be next week!

Larry+Denise / Grimsby Family Portraits

Here’s a sneak peak at some of the photos from Larry and Denise’s beautiful and energetic family! These guys were fun and kept me on my toes, and I loved every moment. Can’t wait to edit the whole batch, I’m working on it guys!!!!

Brett Domino / Video Wednesday

Last weeks video I had mentioned how I was inspired by Eepybird for looking at everyday products and doing extraordinary things with them. This week I want to share a video by two guys in the U.K., Brett Domino and Steven Peavis, where they take some popular music and remix the songs in a very catchy and new way. They do it with a number of songs, and almost every time I prefer their version to the original. I’m just amazed at how they put everything together, and how much time and effort they must put into this, I can’t imagine they get paid for this… I can only assume they do it because they love it, and why else would you want to do anything great? Sarah+Dustin / Hamilton Wedding

This summer I was able to shoot the wedding of my friends and co-workers, Sarah and Dustin from City Kidz. It was great, and really special – so many faces of people I knew and loved were there. It was great, and I was so happy to be a part of their big day – these guys are in L-O-V-E !

This next pair of photos are some of my favourite photos of the whole day. I just loooove em! I just happened to be walking by as this happened, and it was just beautiful.

Sticky Note Experiment / Video Wednesday

I have borrowed a book called Drive from Todd, my boss at City Kidz. It’s about motivation and passion, especially in the realm of creative work, and how the issues of external rewards and punishment actually demotivate people in areas of creativity. So recently I have been thinking a lot about what motivates me, and how I motivate my self. I have been re-aligning my pursuits to fall in line with my passions, and thinking about how to feed into what I already love to do, and use it to get better and produce better work. It’s actually been a great time of growth, realization and productivity. I haven’t slept very well, but I’m excited where my life is going. I was looking for a video to share with you, and remembered a long time ago I was strangely attracted to this video by the guys at Eepybird. If you don’t remember, they are the guys who did the Mentos in Diet Coke fountains. They also did a fun video using sticky notes in some unexpected ways.

I’m excited by this video because it makes me think about how these guys look at the world. They have taken average everyday products and have don’t something different, surprising and wonderful with them. They must look at the world with child like wonderment, seeing that anything is possible. I hope that as I explore what I love, photography, and the other things I’m passionate about that I won’t be afraid to look past the status quo, the established, and see beyond. I hope that my work can start to fall outside of the boundaries and become something truly wonderful, something unexpected. I hope you do too, enjoy the video.

Brenda + Josh / St. Catharines Wedding

I was going through the weddings from the summer and was reminded I had assisted Claire early in the summer at Brenda and Josh’s wedding, I thought I would share some of the shots I got. Last night I had the privilege of shooting my first headshot session. As a bonus, it was with the lovely and talented Sarah Chapman in Toronto, Ontario. Where Did The Summer Go?

That summer went by FAST! I guess that’s what happens when I’m busy, oh, and I took photos too!!! I’ve been working on things in the background, and hoping to show some of the weddings and portraits I’ve done over the summer. Below are some previews that I hope to show in the coming weeks.
