Jeremy Curry

Hi, I’m Jeremy. Welcome to my blog where I share photos I take.

I have been taking photos for the love of it since I was in high school, and haven't looked back. Capturing beauty is my joy and passion.

Outside of photography I'm a full time graphic designer at a non-profit called City Kidz. I also like to bike around, write about things, and eat ice cream.

While I was at the Cottage

So I’m swamped with work and what not, even in my spare time it seems, so I haven’t been able to get to the photos I want to put up. So I went through and found a few already edited photos from while I was away at the Cottage this summer. These photos come stylistically from my photos of the water fountain at Gore Park in Hamilton, though here you will notice I’ve started to decrease the harsh contrast look that previously made my photos distinct. If you’re clever enough, you may find these two experiments in photo editing have really shaped the editing process of my most recent works. Very very different I think from what I’ve done in the past, and most certainly not for everyone, or even every photo. But, I think, very important in the evolution of my style — and also very fun! Hope you enjoy!

P.S. Let me know what you think! Do you like where my new style is headed? Or do you think I’m crazy, and should stay closer to my roots stylistically?

  1. Maribeth Curry said Amazing color in the 2nd one- how did u do that? (September 30, 2009 @ 5:49 pm)
  2. Jeremy Curry said It took some experimentation in Lightroom, Mum. That's the program I use to edit my files, and I really brought down the contrast, played with the Saturation and Split Toning features... There were numerous other operations in between I'm sure, but I can remember exactly. (October 4, 2009 @ 6:18 pm)

Sammy & His Family

Last week I got to take photos of a beautiful young baby named Sammy, and his beautiful family, Carley, Nate and Jax. They are great friends, and not only do I love to spend time with them, I love to take their photos! The day started out a bit bumpy, as the schedule changed a few times, and little Sammy didn’t get his usual nap. But we all crammed into the car, went to the park and we took all the pictures we could until little Sammy could avoid a nap no longer. In the short time we were able to shoot, I am very pleased with the photos we put together, and excited to do some more in the near future. Here are some of my favourites from the day.

Sam loves my camera.

Boy, Mom know’s how to make Sammy happy. Despite much effort, I can never get this reaction from this little guy… I continue to try.

Sammy can’t walk on his own yet, but he’s learning — I really love this shot.

Jax was a little camera shy initially, but once she got warmed up, she was a natural. Here are but a few I got of her.

Here’s a face Sammy has been making a lot lately — I can never tell if He’s trying to smile and display happiness, or if he’s pooping… I’m sure sometime’s it could be both.

I wasn’t sure how things were going to work out with the last minute adjustments, but this family made it easy to take beautiful pictures. Thanks a lot guys!
