Phillip + Dianne | Wedding @ Edgewater Manor

Some may wonder what happened to me, but yes, I’m still around doing photography. I’ll keep my explanation brief, there are some great photos I want to to share! I started working full time at City Kidz, a local non-profit I had been working for part-time. I just felt it was right for this season of my life; with that and some other new responsibilities, it has just been difficult to stay on top of all my photography work; the website hasn’t been the top of my list, so please forgive me for my lack of updates.

But that hasn’t stopped me – since my last post, I have been published a couple of times, and have shot a wedding and some family portraits too! I will try and share all, but first allow me to share some of my favourite photos from Phillip and Dianne’s wedding. A great couple, they kept things simple and intimate at the lovely Edgewater Manor in January.

Here are a few shots of Dianne on the couch in their lovely new home. I just loved how these shots came out.

And here is the Edgewater Manor, right on Lake Ontario in Stoney Creek. I had never heard of it before this wedding, but it was a beautiful little place. Great choice!

Phillip thought it would be a good idea to re-enact his proposal, and I wasn’t going to stop him! Very sweet Phil.

The Edgewater had a shed out in the back, and I promised myself I would make use of it. I was pleasantly surprised when I loaded this shot came up on my computer monitor. I think the simplicity of the backdrop just makes the rest of the shot pop.

It was very romantic to see them dancing around on the back landing here, what a great scene!

I have had such a lovely time working with Phillip and Dianne, best wishes guys!

Video Vednesday: The Fun Theory

Volkswagon has come out with a new campaign, “The Fun Theory,” demonstrating that making usually daunting chores “fun” can improve general participation. Here are a few YouTube video demonstrations. The Bottle Bank is my Favourite!

Piano Stairs

Great Idea, and I think it definitely shows both that Fun can improve behaviour, and that those terrible tasks don’t have to be so bad, if we just re-think them. I wish Volkswagon could make some of my chores more fun! Any ideas on how to make your chores more fun?

Video Vednesday: Cubin’ with Schneck

Man, I love to solve me a Rubik’s Cube every once in a while, something I learned how to do while I was at Bible School in England a couple years back now. So, I thought I’d share with you the secret to solving a Rubik’s cube in this short, yet insightful video, presented by Relient K’s Jonathan Schneck.

Jaimi + Jeff

I took some photography with Jaimi and Jeff a few weeks ago. We started outside at a park nearby, and worked our way into my friend’s studio! It was a great time. These are some of my favourites from the shoot.

These people love their dog Amos, I’m not sure if any photo could ever express.

Once we got into the studio, we spent a few minutes shooting around the building before we got in front of the backdrop. I love this old school elevator that was available.

This is the first time I’ve put a couple in front of the backdrop with a whole flash set up, but Jeff and Jaimi were great and made the whole thing a wonderful experience.
